About Lynn Sperry

• 39 years served as member, McKinney ISD Board of Trustees
• Degree in Music Education, Ohio State University, certified to teach grades K-12
• Taught vocal and instrumental music in public schools, grades 1-8
• Served 12 years as a Director, Texas Association of School Boards
• Graduated as “Master Trustee” from Texas Association of School Boards’ Leadership TASB program
• Former president, North Texas Area Association of School Boards
• Founder, originating board member of McKinney Education Foundation (MEF)
• Founder, originating board member of Serenity High in McKinney
• Founding board member, The Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney
• Founding and current board member, Baylor Scott & White Hospital, McKinney
• Kim Hoffman Award as Volunteer of the Year for McKinney 1997 (co-recipients Lynn and Neil Sperry)
• Carey Cox Award as Citizen of the Year for McKinney 2006
• Collin County Living Legend 2007 (co-recipients Lynn and Neil Sperry)

Lynn Sperry has long been the advocate for teachers, gifted and talented, the fine arts, and youth in recovery, but she steadfastly works for every student on every campus throughout MISD.

She is proud of her many years of service to her community and the great progress our schools have made during her tenure. 

Her experience at this time is vital as the district undergoes many challenges.
